Frequently asked questions

How do I delete my account?

You can permanently delete your account and everything associated with it at any time. Two ways:

In the app:

1. Open Neuron on your phone.
2. Tap your profile (top right of the conversations list).
3. Tap Settings.
4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
5. Confirm. Your account, messages, voice notes, contacts, and all other data are removed immediately. Backups in our system are cleared within 30 days.

By email: if you can't access the app (lost your phone, signed up with a number you no longer use, etc.), email info@neuronmessaging.com. Include the phone number or email on your account so we can verify it's yours. We respond within 3 business days and confirm once the deletion is complete.

What's removed: your profile (name, username, bio, photo), all messages and voice notes, uploaded contacts, push tokens, reminders, scheduled messages, and saved preferences. What's kept briefly: aggregate anonymized usage stats (no personal info), and any legally-required records (e.g., transaction logs) for only as long as the law requires.

Why does Neuron need access to my contacts?

Neuron uploads only names and phone numbers from your contacts to help you find friends who are also using Neuron. No other contact information is collected. You can delete your account at any time to remove all uploaded data.

How does Neuron work?

Neuron understands your messages so it can translate them, schedule them, remind you about them, and answer questions about anything you've ever talked about. Your messages are processed securely and never shared with other users.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices and regularly audit our systems. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I report a bug?

Please email info@neuronmessaging.com with a description of what happened, what you expected to happen, and any screenshots if possible.

How do I import my iMessage history?

Download Neuron for Mac. It securely reads your iMessage, Signal, and WhatsApp databases locally and imports your conversation history to Neuron. The more history Neuron has, the better the insights.
