Neuron vs Quo

Two business phone lines, compared for someone who works for themselves.

Quo, which used to be called OpenPhone, is a well-made business phone system for small teams, with shared numbers and a long list of integrations. Neuron is a business phone line for one person, with a free plan and an agent that answers your calls and your texts. If you have a team and a CRM, Quo is a strong choice. If you work for yourself and want the phone answered while you are on a job, Neuron is built for that.

What Quo does well

Integrations with the tools a team already uses

Slack, Zapier and webhooks come on every Quo plan, and HubSpot, Salesforce, Jobber and Housecall Pro on the Business plan and up. Neuron does not have integrations yet.

Numbers a whole team can share

Quo is designed around several people working one number together, with call recording and analytics on its Business plan and up.

Toll-free numbers and porting

Each user gets a local or toll-free number, and you can bring an existing number across at no charge. Neuron offers local numbers and does not yet take a number you already have.

A voice agent of its own

Quo has a voice agent called Sona that answers calls from a knowledge base, takes messages and transfers callers. Every plan includes 10 calls a month, with more at $1 a call or in bundles.

What Neuron does differently

A free plan with a real number

Neuron is free to start, with your own local number, 50 texts, and an agent you can try for 30 minutes of calls and 100 replies. There is no card to enter and no trial clock running.

An agent that answers calls and texts, on every plan

Your agent answers calls in your business name and replies to texts in your tone, from what it knows about your work, then hands you a customer who is ready to book. Premium makes it unlimited for $29.99 a month.

Built for one person

Neuron assumes there is nobody else to answer the phone. There are no seats, extensions or call queues to set up, and the price is for the line rather than for each person on it.

Which one to choose

Choose Quo if several people answer your phones, if you want your calls and texts logged in a CRM, or if you need a toll-free number or want to keep a number you already have.

Choose Neuron if you work for yourself and the thing you need most is for the phone to be answered when you cannot answer it. You can start free, hear your own agent before you pay anything, and the most you will pay for an agent without limits is $29.99 a month.
